Job Description

Job Purpose

The key purpose of the Divisional Manager - Business Development will be to improve the
Company’s market position and to achieve financial growth. It includes identifying business
opportunities, building key customer relationships, negotiation and closure of business deals.
Maintaining an extensive knowledge of current market conditions, both in the public and
private sector will be essential. Being able to identify large opportunities, network with key
stakeholders and partners to build robust solutions, acquiring the business and developing it
further will be the primary deliverables of the role. Successful achievement in this role will
help in accelerating the person’s career within the group

Internal & External Interactions

Internal: CEO Africa, Project Managers, Peers and Functional Heads
External: Private sector clients, Government and public sector clients, Government officials,
Promoters, Contractors, Partners

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop a business development strategy for the UAE which addresses the significant
  • needs in the market
  • Set aggressive growth driven revenue and order-book targets for the region
  • Acquire new business by identifying potential customers and networking with potential
  • stakeholders from various institutions (private and public sectors)
  • Develop and continuously manage a robust sales pipeline
  • Identify the potential client’s needs, identify solutions, build proposals, and present it at the
  • various decision making levels
  • Work with internal teams to build the financials for the project
  • Negotiate the terms and conditions of the proposals with relevant stakeholders and achieve closure
  • Build existing business by continuing to build relationships with key stakeholders and identifying opportunities for up-selling and cross – selling within the client
  • Keep up to date with the latest trends in the market by doing daily research, networking etc.

Candidate Requirements

Qualifications Knowledge & Behavior:

  • Post-graduate degree from a well-recognised organisation (MBA will be an advantage)
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in a similar role in the B2B selling training packages to industry sectors (Banking, IT Solutions, Business Advisory services etc.)
  • Demonstrate high ethical standards and integrity in personal and professional dealings, and be willing to act on, and remain accountable for his / her decisions
  • Be an outstanding communicator, with strong negotiating and persuasion skills
  • An excellent appreciation of the UAE skills development landscape, industry and political nuances will be preferable
  • Microsoft Office skills essential, especially PowerPoint Presentations.
