FINITE ELEMENTS ANALYSIS / SYSTEM PERFORMANCE ENGINEER

Job Description

For our client, a tier 1 Automotive multinational employer of choice, we search and select a passionate and experienced (from automotive or aeronautics) R&D mechanical engineer.

Objectives:

1)        Follow CAE work procedures, build up simulation work templates, follow simulation guidelines to meet project requests

2)       Support members of the engineering teams in order to meet management and customer objectives in accordance with government and customer specifications

3)       Support R&D, core product development, business applications and manufacturing providing all Finite Elements Analysis for new product development and for root cause and value analyses on current production products

Tasks & Responsibilities:

1)        Generation and validation of restraint component models with Finite Elements programs

2)       Correlation to test results and optimization of component performance

3)       Carry out parameter studies, DOE or topology studies for component optimization

4)      Biomechanical Data analysis and Film analysis

5)       Simulation and evaluation of load cases of occupant restraint systems

6)      Carry out parameter studies for the correlation of restraint systems

7)       Correlation to test results and optimization of restaint system performance

8)      Carry out parameter studies and DoE for system performance optimization

9)      Analysis of test results (crash / sled / OoP)

10)    Supports the Product Engineering with the component development and optimization

11)     Communicates and cooperates with project related departments of KSS

12)     Creates and executes status presentations & analysis reports and participates in project meetings internally and at the customer

13)    Actively participates in DFMEA and Design reviews

14)    Counseling of the development teams with regard to practicability of use of numerical simulation for the respective task of the investigation

15)    Coordinates the test setup of the relevant tests with the responsible Product / Systems Engineer Technical project management of an occupant restraint system / occupant safety project if applicable

Profile & requirements:

1)        Certified Engineer (Technical University and/or Institute of Technology) with extensive experience in the job

2)       Master Degree represents an advantage

3)       Minimum of 3 years of work experience in the automotive or aeronautics sector FE-Solver (experienced in at least one SW: ABAQUS, PamCrash, LS-DYNA, RADIOSS...)

4)      Minimum 1 year with explicit or implicit solver (e.g. ABAQUS, PamCrash, LS-DYNA, RADIOSS and Madymo) oder / or

5)       Minimum of 1 year experience in numerical simulation in min. 1 field of passive safety / occupant restraint systems / pedestrian protection

6)      Organizational skills

7)       Effective team player with the ability to work with minimal direction

8)      Technical ability with knowledge of materials, manufacturing and assembly processes

9)      English – advanced level
