Purchasing Manager

Job Description

Main Tasks and Activities:

• Development and implementation of the international Purchasing Strategy of the Product Line Monotube in Europe, NAFTA and Asia
• Strategic Planning and Operational Planning of Program Purchasing Monotube 
• Ensure overall target achievement, especially regarding material cost, supplier quality and supplier delivery performance
• Define, implement and ensure procurement specifications (technical, capacities, timelines, commercial, logistics, quality) for new customer projects from start until SOP and onwards
• Identification, Selection and Development of Suppliers in cooperation with Commodity Purchasing Preparation of Sourcing Decisions (SDB)
• Launch Management, ensure supplier readiness
• BOM–Management, driving of VE/VA-activities, optimizing product costs  
• Solving of capacity issues of suppliers in cooperation with relevant central departments
• Implementation and execution of the Group´s purchasing standards & processes and Compliance Rules
• Cooperation in the development of Processes, Methods and Organization in the Business Unit
• Functional and disciplinary leadership of the local team
• Non-Production Material Purchasing Plant Bilbao

Requirements

• university degree in business administration or industrial engineering and management or in the technical field
• at least 5 years job experience in similar positions in the automotive industry
• ability to lead others
• excellent negotiations skills with internal and external parties
• High degree of decisiveness and assertiveness
• team-oriented working style
• excellent command of English; knowledge of Spanish and German would be an additional advantage
• intercultural experience and willingness to travel
