HR Generalist

The newly hired HR Generalist will report directly to GM Hungary and will lead the implementation of the new HR strategy in the Budapest team (cca 100 employees).
He/she should analyze human resources data and carry out responsibilities in recruiting, employee relations, training, employment law, safety, affirmative action, employment branding and internal communication programs.

a) Resolve basic to complex problems by leveraging business / HR knowledge and client relationships;
b) Anticipate business needs, think proactively and respond appropriately;
c) Advise employees and managers on HR related policies, programs, and procedures;
d) Maintain employee records and handle all administrative tasks;
e) Coach supervisors and managers on handling employee issues;
f) Administer and manage compensation and performance management systems;
g) Analyze the need to update or change benefit plan designs to remain competitive in the market, while gauging the financial impact to the company;
h) Assist with recruitment: source candidates, pre-screen, scheduling of interviews, administer and evaluate applicant tests, perform background checks, conduct reference checks, preparation of offer letters, etc;
i) Maintain accurate job descriptions for all staff;
j) Perform new hire orientation and onboarding of new hires;
k) Perform presentations on HR compliance topics to ensure the company is in adherence with HR policies, procedures, and programs;
l) Identify and arrange training needs for employee development;
m) Research effectiveness of HR programs and propose improvement to policies, programs, and procedures to improve human resources effectiveness and operations;
n) Manage multiple projects concurrently, demonstrating a sense of urgency and results orientation.

a) 2+ years of HR generalist experience, with strong leadership and hands-on capabilities in Employee Relations, Staffing, Client Service, and Performance Management;
b) Positive attitude, excellent interpersonal skills;
c) Must be a self-starter with the ability to balance conflicting points of view, function effectively under pressure and demonstrate discretion, integrity and fair-mindedness;
d) Ability to learn new systems quickly and create improved efficiency;
e) Excellent follow-up skills with the ability to follow-through to completion;
f) Track record of success working at a fast pace, and able to adapt to a fluid business environment;
g) Attention to detail, driven, professional, and with a strong work ethic;
h) Fluent English, German is a plus.
