Title:  Coastal Manager (KZN, CT, EC)

Area:  Cape Town

 

Brief Description:

Assist BDM’s in closing and sourcing for new business, ensuring the correct legislation is adhered to and that the vision and strategic goal of the group is carried across. Training and negotiation are key in the success of this business unit. The successful candidate must be a strong negotiator. 

 

Qualification:

B.Com Honours Minimum (Finance/ Economics)

MBA Preferable

RE 1- 5

Skills & Experience:

·         6 - 10 years asset management experience preferable, experience in Distribution and Sales, management experience

·         Knowledge of industry funds and products, and economic and current affairs preferable, knowledge of coastal client network

 

Key Attributes:

·         Facilitate client presentations with high profile clients

·         Provide input to resolve problems emanating from client base

·         Ensure that relevant information and market intelligence attained through multiple sources is communicated to the coastal and national teams

·         Ensures that they mentor Senior BDMs in order to upskill the team

·         Manages risk in the business

·         Communicates coastal strategy to team

·         Has awareness of financial implications on business

·         Has a full understanding of operational framework and collaboration with operations team and process

·         Displays effective communication and bargaining skills

·         Has the ability to facilitate collaboration between banking segments and advisors

·         Monitors opportunities to cross sell

·         Advises on integrated solutions to channels

·         Oversees an compliance matters that need attention

·         Ensures that one is up-to-date on relevant legislation and determines necessary compliant action thereafter

·         Identifies areas in the business where there may be a conflict of interest

·         Work across variety of wrappers and investment solutions in order to oversee investments from IFA's and tied channels. (Networks, FoF, larger broker corporates).

·         Drive retail distribution strategy in coastal region

·         Activate, develop and support BDMs to grow Ashburton's footprint and support base with advisors in coastal region

·         Track that investment business is being grown via initiatives and client activities

·         Monitor client retention strategies instituted by BDMs

·         Effectively manage internal stakeholders (specifies stakeholders according to tiers)
