1. KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS (MAIN FUNCTIONS)

  • The mechanical, electrical and electronic diagnosing of equipment and control systems.
  • The maintenance/servicing of equipment.
  • The repair of equipment.
  • Liaising with clients regarding requirements, quality and, completion of work.
     
  • Completing technical service records.
  • Skills transfer/development of junior staff
  • Accurate administration w.r.t. Time sheets, vehicle records, etc.
  • Communication with SFI helpdesk to provide accurate feedback
  • Active contribution to improvement of procedures, policies and productivity.

 

2. DUTIES

  • Mechanical, electrical and electronic diagnosing of equipment and control systems.
  • Conduct electrical and/or electronic tests on equipment and control systems.
  • Strip equipment (if required) to determine faults.
  • The maintenance/servicing of equipment
  • Conduct checks and testing.
  • Strip equipment (if required by contract).
  • Replace and/or repair parts as per stipulated contract.
  • Re-assemble equipment.
  • Test equipment after service.
  • The repair of equipment and control systems.
  • Conduct checks and testing.
  • Strip equipment (if required by contract).
  • Replace and/or repair parts as per stipulated contract.
  • Re-assemble equipment.
  • Test equipment after repair
  • Liaising with clients regarding requirements, quality of work, and completion of work.
  • Complete documentation for client signature.
  • Check with client regarding requirements, satisfaction and quality of work done.
  • Submit requests to Administrative offices.


Completing technical service records

  • Ensure that all required technical documentation is available.
  • On or during completion, complete Log sheets.
  • Submit to manager on completion.

3.RESPONSIBILITY AND ACCOUNTABILITY

  • You are responsible to maintain high technical standards in the execution of your duties.
  • You are responsible to conduct all tasks within the boundaries of the Company Technical Policy.
  • You are responsible for adhering to legislative acts prescribed in your line of work, and specifically to the Occupational Health and Safety Act.


4.MACHINERY, TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT
All hand tools, equipment and vehicles issued to you is your responsibility. Adhere to the company policy in this regard.


5.QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum requirement
  • N3
  • Refrigeration Trade Certificate.


6.EXPERIENCE
Recommended Experience

  • 3-5 years servicing and repairing HVAC equipment inclusive of central plant HVAC.
  • 3-5 years experience supervising staff
  • Ability to work independently
  • Experience working according to SLA¡¦s and contractual Terms of Service.
