The Role
- Continuously builds an intimate knowledge of businesses, competitors, customers, and profit drivers, and thinks through how external competitive and market drivers will affect strategy and operating results.
- Knows our investors, and manages effective relationships with financial institutions, advisors and suppliers
- Demonstrates outstanding judgment in weighing near term and medium term risks and opportunities in resource allocation and risk management within the business.
- Drives external shareholder perspective into critical decision-making.
- Establishes clear "tone at the top" related ethics and the law, and financial controls.
- Ensures the financial control infrastructure is effective, efficient and changes in response to the business requirements and developments in the external environment.
- Ensure full utilization of ERP automated controls to create preventive and detective control environments.
- Maintains independence in view and assessment of the business control environment, and raises all issues of significant risk and non-compliance to the CFO NLT.
- Ensures delegated levels of authority are understood and followed in accordance with policy.
- Sets finance function strategy for the region and ensures the effective allocation of resources across businesses and financial processes.
- Ensures ongoing and effective communication to business segments in the region, corporate leadership, and other supporting functions.
- Drives finance function performance and teamwork in order to accomplish company goals and objectives, and at the same time supporting the individual businesses within AP to achieve their goals.
- Acts a role model for the financial employees in the AP region and is accountable for driving robust growth and development plans to provide for career growth, talent planning and succession.
- Ensures financial acumen and concepts are applied to decision making at every level of the business.
- Contributes to the development of the BU strategy, and analyzes the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats to the business segment.
- Provides financial evaluation of the various strategy options including net present value analysis and potential impact to customers.
- Partners closely with the BU LT to execute and measure progress against the BU strategy.
Develops and executes annual operating plans consistent with near-term requirements for financial and non-financial performance and long-term strategic requirements. - Ensures finance support and effective reporting and analysis to enable productive business management reviews as well as responsiveness to changing market opportunities and conditions.
- Designs the finance organizations to create "complete" jobs with strong accountability and growth.
- Creates an environment where talent is developed through effective performance and talent management.
- Effectively builds a diverse team with competent people using the appropriate mix of internal promotion and external recruitment to satisfy near-term performance, longer-term succession needs and to ensure the organization has the necessary outstanding talent.

The Person
Experience: - 15+ years of financial leadership in a variety of financial disciplines with global companies
- Working in a manufacturing environment
- Working for an American-based corporation with its specific reporting requirements
- Functioning in a highly-matrixed structure across functional, business, geographic and cultural boundaries
- Leading teams across national boundaries and cultures
- Leading change to enable rapid continuous improvement in an organization
- Has led strategic planning, operations planning, investment analysis and executive-level (including board) business reviews, has participated in M&A due diligence and integration
- Has an undergraduate degree in finance or related business discipline, advanced degree preferred
Knowledge and Skills: - Strong financial acumen with demonstrated analytical ability accompanied by knowledge of corporate finance and manufacturing costing principles-understands P&L and balance sheet dynamics
- Teach and communicate in simple, impactful terms
- Manage and control costs-effectively develops business cases and enroll leaders at all levels in taking appropriate action
- Develop and intimate knowledge of customers, competition, and the market and uses this knowledge to drive customer and product profitability decisions
- Think strategically and execute strategic directions
- Knows and reads audiences, can tell the story of the business to all levels of the organization
- Can successfully form and then share candid and sometimes unpopular messages
