• You’re the alpha developer in your team and a Guru in Java Development.

• You've got 10 or more years of hands-on web development experience driving technology teams and decisions for successful e-commerce businesses.

• You've led Product Engineering teams including technical Product Managers, Engineers and QA teams, either in-house or outsourced.

• You've demonstrated success with both the waterfall and agile software development practices.

• You're able to make key platform and architecture decisions - Ruby or PHP? Which framework? What ORM? Which database - MySQL, Postgres or Oracle? How should we handle big data - Hadoop or Cassandra?

• You care deeply about the user experience, design and usability.

• You're ready to deal with a leading enterprise e-commerce platform, own it, optimise it, and deliver our Product Road Map through it.

• You're always conscious about cutting costs without sacrificing quality at the same time.

• You're excellent at breaking things down and calculating effort estimates for new development initiatives.

• You've built, mentored, scaled and led development and QA teams.

• You’re comfortable leading teams across multiple geographies. • You're as much of a doer as you are a leader.

• You automate things with scripts and automation tools whenever you can.

• You're comfortable dealing with tight deadlines and multiple teams.

• You're a pro at monitoring system performance and taking rapid action whenever anything's a miss.

• You're a great communicator and can articulate technology, technical details and challenges to a non-technical audience.

• You're experienced with technologies we leverage: o Creating web applications that scale for hundreds of thousands of users o Mobile development (the pros and cons of HTML5 versus native apps) and knowledgeable on mobile frameworks (Sencha, Titanium Appcelerator, PhoneGap) o Relational databases (MySQL and Oracle) o Payment Gateways o The Linux server environment (RedHat, CentOS, Ubuntu) o The Networking layer (Routers, IDS, Firewalls, Load Balancers, VPNs, CDNs, SMTPs) o Web standards and web optimisation techniques o Java and PHP programming languages o HTML, CSS, JS o Web app security best practices o Code versioning systems (Git-based) o The Hybris B2C commerce platform (optional, but a big plus) o The Oracle Retail applications suite (optional, but another plus)
