Account Manager

The Company is a world leading supplier of turbine components into a multitude of sectors with numerous blue chip global OEM customers. The facility is part of a separate company group, which has been recently acquired by The Company and forms a key part of the group’s strategic growth plans.

DEPARTMENT: Sales and Marketing

PURPOSE: To provide professional and effective services to internal and external customers to meet their expectations in terms of quality and timelines in line with Company procedures

ROLES & RESPONSIBLITIES:

  • To build and maintain effective relationships with customers both internally and externally, and carry out internal activities as part of the support team
  • Responsibility for specific customer accounts
  • Maintain and analyse data on customer forecasts and actual achievement to weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual sales targets for weekly report out to the CST Manager
  • Maintain and follow up quote activity on the RFQ tool to identify opportunity for weekly report out to the CST Manager
  • Work with internal departments to track and monitor status of new product introductions to support achievement of the sales target
  • Work with internal departments to produce performance metrics for Customer Scorecards
  • Prepare presentations for customer meetings
  • Work professionally and  closely with the other Team members and corporate sales team in maintaining the rolling forecast/budget for the department
  • Participate in daily production meetings, report out concerns and work with the Team and other departments to resolve actions as required
  • To deal effectively with all customer support calls & emails, investigating, logging and responding to queries and ensuring progression to the support consultant
  • To respond to customer communications in a professional and courteous manner, bringing the customer query to a successful conclusion at the earliest time possible
  • Working with the dispatch team and freight forwarders to arrange import and export of shipments and maintain customs records.
  • General sales administration, including filing, invoicing, status reports
  • Working with internal departments to resolve customer concerns and promote customer requirements
  • To speak positively and enthusiastically about the Company and its products and services to ensure that a professional Company and brand image is provided at all times to customers and colleagues
  • To carry out any other duties that may be required by the Company

Essential Characteristics:

  • Experience in a Customer Services environment, preferably in a manufacturing industry
  • Strong IT Skills, being proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint
  • Must be able to work as part of a team, but also be able to work using your own initiative whilst being able to work under pressure
  • Must have a good understanding of English and be PC literate
  • Have strong interpersonal and good communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively at all levels
  • A self-motivated approach and a proactive attitude
  • You will be diplomatic and be skilled in negotiating
  • Outstanding organisational skills
  • Have the tact and ability to deal with difficult situations

Desirable Characteristics:

  • Knowledge of import/export shipping and customs requirements / export compliance including IPR / OGEL
  • Experience within an aerospace environment or at least an ISO9001 approved organisation
  • Have an interest in career development and training within the workplace
