HSSE Coordinator

Job Description

Prime responsibilities and duties:

 Help develop Project Specific HSSE Management System Manual;
 Provide input and contribute to the development of Project Specific HSSE Plans based on the set objectives and targets;
 Be familiar with company/corporate HSSE codes of practice, standards, guidelines & specifications, and ensure these are implemented effectively across all the project activities;
 Guide, direct, train and motivate both company and contractor HSSE Supervisors/Officers to perform their duties in full alignment and compliance with company rules and procedures;
 Promote safe working systems and procedures. Monitor and advise on proper application of "Permit to Work" system, and ensure that all safety regulations and practices are adhered to.
 Ensure the preparation and timely issue of all HSSE reports including accidents/incidents, investigation and statistics.
 Establish and maintain a project specific stewardship process to monitor and report HSSE Performance against established KPI's;
 Establish and maintain a project specific auditing programme supporting the quarterly management review of HSEMS implementation;
 Participate/Lead accidents and incidents investigations and ensure reporting is done in accordance with company established procedures;

 Monitor close out and implementation of actions in the Hazard & Effect register to ensure adequate controls are established and maintained.
 Develop project specific Simultaneous Operations (SIMOPS) Plan covering:
o The designation of the responsible parties for the various operations to be performed;
o The identification of hazards and appropriate mitigation measures;
o The establishment of SIMOPS emergency response set up
o The clarification of communication between the various operations.
o The development of both a SIMOPS Log and a SIMOPS Plan checklist.
 Assist in developing and implementing project specific Emergency Response set ups and procedures, especially at interface of concurrent activities.
 Ensure contractor pre-mobilization HSSE requirements are all completed and in order.
 Ensure timely coverage of Project and Contractor personnel’s HSSE orientation and training.
 Daily coordination and liaison with the offshore based HSSE Engineers.
 Assist Team Leader in developing and helping implement overall HSSE platform for project execution including site HSSE processes and tools.


Core competencies:

 University degree / diploma (B.A., B.S or equivalent) or HSE related diploma / certification.
 Minimum of 10 years work / industry experience (Oil & Gas industry experience desired).
 Minimum of 5 years HSE related experience in public sector or private sector.
 Supervisory experience desired with demonstrated leadership traits.
 Demonstrated expertise with Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint or equivalent software.
 Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
 Excellent English language proficiency, both written and spoken.
 Multi-lingual ability desired, but not required.
 Excellent interpersonal and presentational skills.
