The Banking - Insurance Division is looking for a

LEGAL COUNSEL – CORPORATE & INVESTMENT BANKING

Our client is a leading international bank strong both on Corporate & Investment Banking and Transactional Services.

 

 

THE ROLE

Legal counsel for CIB business line (including Global Trade Solutions, Leverage Finance, Real Estate Finance, Project Finance, Export Finance, Corporate Acquisition Finance) advising on various aspects of banking, company and relevant parts of insolvency law. In particular:

-          undertake and support the structuring, drafting, review and negotiation of domestic cross border loan arrangements and related documentation (term-sheets, mandate letters, legal opinions, security documents, guarantees and intercreditor documentation, standstill and restructuring arrangements etc), and trade finance deals and related documentation (documentary credits, documentary guarantees, standby etc.);

-          ensure and oversee transaction management, also of multi-jurisdictional projects;

-          where appropriate, instruct and supervise external lawyers both inside and outside Italy.

 

REQUIREMENTS

 

The ideal candidate has:

  • JD Degree and member of the Italian Bar;
  • At least 4+ years of post qualification experience with a top tier organization (Investment Bank or Law Firm);
  • Strong knowledge and experience of the national banking market and relevant regulation and documentation as well as of international documentation (LMA, UCP; URDG);
  • Excellent negotiation skills, oral and written communication skills;
  • Excellent English;
  • Ability to prioritize workload, sense of urgency, attention to details;
  • Ability to work across the organization and maintain high standards of business ethics and professionalism in all dealings, with team members and internal/ external clients.

 

The position is based in Milan.
