Our client is a global specialty chemicals company, leader in special additives for plastics, lubricants and water management.

 

THE ROLE

 

SALES AREA MANAGER REVERSE OSMOSI

 

Hierarchically reporting to the Regional Sales & Marketing Manager Europe, the candidate will be responsible for the sales of Water Additives including phosphonates, phosphorus derivatives and polymers to new and existing customer base. He will particularly deal with:

 

v      Proactively contributing to the Company and business development results by increasing sales performance and margins, identifying and attracting new clients and maintaining or reinforcing existing clients’ relationships in the assigned area;

v      Developing sales and market intelligence activities mainly focused on industrial water & process treatment industries and HI&I cleaning markets;

v      Managing pricing and negotiating contracts, both with end customers and distributors, consistently with the Business Unit sales policy;

v      Creating contacts, initiating calls and making technical sales presentations at all levels including upper management, purchasing, R&D, marketing and plant functions;

v      Applying a technical problem solving selling mode of “solution process and performance selling”;

v      Maintaining an excellent knowledge and understanding of specialty chemicals and water chemistry and applications;

v      Providing accurate forecasts, planning and reports to the Global Sale Force and Managers;

v      Ensuring constant sharing of market information with the Global Sale Force, including Technical Development Managers, Innovation, R&D and Application specialists;

v      Managing sample requests and customers claims.

 

 

THE PERSON

 

  • The candidate is in possession of a Chemical / Chemical Engineering University degree (or equivalent experience)
  • He/She has developed a ten-year experience in commercial roles for international B2B Companies involved in water treatment or HI&I cleaning markets application.
  • Previous experience in polymers for phase separation in waste or process water treatment sector is a strong advantage.
  • Strongly motivated and highly technical-business oriented, with ability to take initiative and work in a multicultural and demanding environment, he/she has natural attitude for team-work and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Sales pioneering mind-set, jointly with ability to work collaboratively with scientific R&D, technical support services and marketing teams as well as with internal experts contributing to the development of the activity, are prerequisites.
  • Fully proficient in English, he/she is available for frequent business trips along the assigned territory and, when required, in foreign Countries.
