JOB DESCRIPTION FOR LEAD- Civil Engineer Our Client is a wholly owned subsidiary of Large Indian Group, a US$ 15.9 Billion group having a strong presence in automobile & automotive components, farm & energy equipment, telecom & software, infrastructure sector. Our Client Group has recently forayed in EPC business in the “Cleantech” space through turnkey PV Solar installations and has already become one of the top EPC companies in this domain within 2 years of on ground execution. It is currently executing many grid connected and off grid projects for Marquee customers and wants to continue its position to be a niche player in this segment. Our Client is also poised to progressively diversify into other EPC businesses. In order to become a world class EPC company and also to grow and diversify the EPC Business, MEPC is currently in process to bolstering its EPC team with competent professionals to implement sound business, execution, Quality & HSE processes. To meet the above objective, It is looking for Lead- Civil engineer for construction processes during the entire life cycle of the project (Design, Procurement, Construction, Commissioning and O&M) through Integrated Management System (IMS) which includes ISO 9001,ISO 14001 & OHSAS 18001. Department: Projects Title of the position Lead Engineer - civil Reporting to Construction Manager (site) – Projects Qualifications 5 yrs for B.E. (Civil)/8 yrs for Diploma in Civil from a reputed engineering college Experience : Min 5 years of experience( BE civil) in Civil construction out of which minimum 3-5 years of working at Sites. Any additional certification courses in HSE shall be preferred. Should have worked with leading industrial houses / EPC companies engaged in implementation of Projects either within or outside India. Should have sound construction knowledge for a minimum period of 5-7 years. Overall responsibility: On-site supervision of all civil & structure work at project site. Controlling project schedule and budget. Preparation of periodic project progress report giving updates on budget, schedule (comparison between approved schedule / budget with likely schedule / budget with reasons for deviation and action plan to catch with the initial schedule / budget) Updating project budget and schedule in project management software Co-ordinating with the project planning and engineering team during construction phase Approving contractor running bill and give payment recommendation 10.Co-ordinating with procurement team for timely receipt of material at site. Ensuring safety norms and other statutory provisions during construction phase (including that by the contractor) Key areas of responsibility Implementing internal HSE systems Interaction with clients for demonstrating adherence to HSE systems The ideal candidate for this position should possess a strong civil and structural project execution back ground. Basic Areas of Knowledge and Skills Sound fundamental knowledge in electrical engineering and general aptitude for other facets of engineering. Sound knowledge of HSE standards and Statutory & Regulatory requirements including the IMS Standards specified above, as applicable to Project Management in India Candidate should be well verse with various project scheduling and management related tools
