TECHNICAL SALES MANAGER

Job Description

Primary Responsibilities / Job description
Limited to Business Line and Geographical Area, responsible for identifying specific sales opportunities :
- collect detailed data regarding the market to be developed
- select preferential customers and / or markets with higher chances of success 
- associate costs to business plans 
• propose / agree on yearly basis commercial campaigns 
• propose / agree participation in fairs and presence in technical magazines 
• organize / manage existing / potential customer contacts / visits 
• manage customer database
• organize / manage exhibitions and client workshops 
• arrange monthly sales meetings reports 
• report customer visits
• report customer interest into products of other company business lines
• manage customer requests for quotation (RFQ) : 
- receive RFQ (commercial and technical specifications)
 - study / analyze feasibility and technical norms 
 - interface with client for clarifications 
 - decide bid / no bid 
 - transfer all required information to proposal department 
 - propose / agree proposal price 
 - write commercial proposal 
 - negotiate technically / commercially with customer 
 - final revision of proposal
• manage pilot rental proposal and tests
• in case of order :
 - selects and makes available all necessary documentation to enable Operations a perfect understanding of the scope and constraints of work 
 - fills the necessary forms
 - participates, if required, in the kick-off meeting
 - provides all necessary / required clarifications and support to Operations 
 - participates, if required in the FAT 
 
Collaborates in the following activities :
• spare parts offers 
• equipment retrofit proposals 
• proposals cost estimates 
• delivery time estimates 
• proposals modifications 
• evaluating customers' capability to ensure respect of payment schedules 
• management of relationships with customers with particular concern to requests and customer problems during / after warranty period with specific concern to : 
- Identification of type or problem (logistics, quality or application)
- Addressing problem
- Problem resolution

Reports to : 
Business Line Director 

Cooperates with 
 Shanghai General Manager 
Operations Director and his staff
Finance and control administration Director and his staff 
 After sales Director and his staff 

Required competences

Professional 
 Knowledge of Fine Chemicals, Chemicals, Pharma market 
Solid / liquid separation and / or vacuum drying application technologies 
 Pressure vessels general experience
Plant and process engineering general experience 
 Fluent English speaking and writing 
 Microsoft Office 

Capabilities 
Planner, able to propose agree a yearly budget of expenses and sales
Proven experience of management of agents
Able to research and organize information 
Creative, flexible 
Problem solver 
Communicator 
Negotiator able to persuade colleagues / clients
