Outline of main duties and responsibilities

·Manage the execution of our client’s strategic projects or programs within the specified and agreed upon constraints of quality, scope, time and cost;

·Create and maintain project plans;

·Manage project budgets;

·Assist in creating Request for Proposals (RFP) and managing the RFP process;

·Coordinate resources and assist with issue and conflict resolution;

·Manage project risks and impacts and ensure appropriate control measures are provided and implemented;

·Provide appropriate and timely feedback regarding project or program status as per agreement with relevant stakeholders;

·Prepare and maintain project reports and run steercom meetings (internal as well as external);

·Evaluate projects to ensure that benefits are realized;

·Ensure adherence to the Project Management methodology and governance structures;

·Assist in the development and enhancement of the relevant Project Management processes and templates;

·Train operational and ICT staff on how to use Project Office tools and templates;

·Provide leadership, mentorship and guidance to managers carrying out projects within their respective business units;

·Assist in the roll out of the Project Office throughout the Group.

Skills and experience required


·Degree with an accredited Project Management qualification such as:

·PRINCE 2 Practitioner;

·PMI Project Management Professional (PMP) or;

·APM Certified Project Manager (CPM);


·5 - 10 years Project Management experience;

·Previous experiencing managing programs;

·Previous experience managing projects across multiple business units and/or global boundaries;

·Previous experience managing projects within the asset management industry.

·Proficiency in MS Project, Word, Excel and PowerPoint;

·Proficiency in using project planning tools.

Reporting structure

The Project Manager will report to the Senior Manager – Project Office based in the Cape Town office.

Remuneration level

Remuneration will be market related and commensurate with experience and seniority. In addition, the successful candidate will receive a competitive benefits package and be eligible to participate in the firm-wide discretionary bonus scheme.
