Design Office Manager

Job Description

 Determine and manage design and engineering resources to meet project targets.
 Manage the Engineering Change Request process.
 Maintain and update boat option lists.
 Vault administration.
 Drawing approval.
 Manage and execute supplier Nom Conformance Reports.
 Managing change to ensure a smooth work flow.
 Set design and engineering targets in line with the company’s strategy and targets.
 Responsible for planning, creating, implementing, controlling and scheduling design tasks.
 Ensure that all standard operating procedures and design processes are followed.
 Create and implement new standard operating procedures and design processes as needed.
 Ensure best operating practices are implemented and that continuous improvement is embedded within the department.
 Manage and develop design budgets.
 Implement applicable cost control programs and measures.
 Ensure that design progress reports are prepared and maintained on an ongoing basis.
 Monitor and review the performance of department members and arrange applicable training and development to ensure improvement.
 Ensure implementation and compliance to environmental health and safety procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
 Minimum: Tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering
 CAD and Product Data Management experience.
 Project Management qualification and / or experience.
 Essential: Experience within design office management.
 Essential: Sound knowledge of process improvement techniques.
