Title:  Financial Manager (EE/AA)

Area:  Woodstock, Cape Town

Salary:  Market related

 

Brief Description:

A leader in mechanical precision equipment is seeking an experienced Financial Manager to run the full financial function in the company. 

 

Qualification:

CA (SA) non-negotiable

 

Skills & Experience:

7 years’ financial experience with 4 years in senior management

Professional and well groomed

High level of integrity and confidentiality

Good communicator (verbal/non-verbal) with strong presentation and negotiations skills

Effective decision maker

Good problem solving skills with ability to demonstrate initiative and work independently

Conflict handling and resolution skills

Driven, confident, self-motivated and results orientated

Team player with good people management skills

South African citizens only

 

Job Description:

·       Timeous reporting of the results to key stakeholders including the Shareholders and Holding company in Germany in compliance with IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards) and the Group Accounting Manual

·       Ensure sound financial control, adherence to policies, secure and accurate financial reporting.

·       Review and approval of Month-end, quarter-end and year-end close including trial balance and reconciliations.

·       Managing Budget and Forecast preparation as well as monitoring and reporting to Company Management.

·       Preparation of financial information for communication and presentations in Board Meetings, Audit and Risk Committee Meetings and Finance Meetings.

·       Management, liaison and assistance in annual external audit process as well as internal audits when required.

·       Responsible for the preparation of annual financial statements.

·       Responsible for the day to day management of the debtors,  creditors, cashbook and petty cash department including review of overseas payments and banking commitments.

·       Management, administration and recommendation on all provisions (creation and application) to cover all known future risks and liabilities. This relies on judgements and assumptions.

·       Identification of risks that could have financial implications for the company and provide business advice at all levels of the company.

·       Assist and recommend in business decisions on economic viable and profitable transactions to make a positive return on investment. 

·       Develop, implement and modify financial policies, practices and ERP system (Qmuzik).

·       Providing guidance to finance team and Company employees on accounting treatment of transactions applying good corporate and ethical values.

·       Provide leadership and guidance to the finance team to deliver efficient customer service to internal and external users of financial information.

·       Execute relevant ad-hoc projects/ tasks including Head office request.
