Salary:  R600 000.00 – R700 000.00 ctc

Brief Description:
An education institution with a global footprint has an exciting role for an experience Financial Manager.

Qualification:
Honours degree in Accounting or Finance.
SAIPA qualification will be advantageous.

Skills & Experience:
Between 5-10 years’ experience in a financial role, with at least 3 years’ experience in a management role.
African experience will be great (we are Kenya, Nigeria and SA at the moment) a basic understanding of the Africa culture there type of global Accounting principles.
Management experience of a small team for at least 1 – 3 years essential.
B2B experience highly advantageous.
Microsoft Excel expertise.
Tax and Accounting knowledge.
Reporting skills.
Attention to detail.
Deadline-orientated.
General Math skills.
Data entry management.
Strong work ethic and high standards for achievement.
Working hours:  09h00 – 18h00
South African citizens only.

Job Description:
To provide responsive and sound support to the company’s Board and Senior Management Team (‘SMT’) enable financial, systems, policy and administrative framework within which operational units are able to function optimally.  To provide support with regard to all financial matters within these units.  Ensure adherence to statutory requirements, asses financial risks and strive for operational efficiencies within the units.  Ensure timely and robust financial reporting to the GEMS Global Finance team for monthly management accounts, budgets, re-forecasts and other requests.

·       Providing and interpreting financial information.
·       Monitoring and interpreting cash flows and predicting future trends.
·       Analysing change and advising accordingly.
·       Formulating strategic and long-term business plans.
·       Researching and reporting on factors influencing business performance.
·       Analysing competitors and market trends.
·       Formulating strategic and long-term business plans.

·       Analysing competitors and market trends.
·       Developing financial management mechanisms that minimise financial risk.
·       Conducting reviews and evaluations for cost-reduction opportunities.
·       Managing a company's financial accounting, monitoring and reporting systems.
·       Liaising with auditors to ensure annual monitoring is carried out.
·       Developing external relationships with appropriate contacts, e.g. auditors, solicitors, bankers and statutory organisations such as the Inland Revenue.
·       Producing accurate financial reports to specific deadlines.
·       Managing budgets.
·       Arranging new sources of finance for a company's debt facilities.
·       Supervising staff.
·       Keeping abreast of changes in financial regulations and legislation.
·       Raising capital to support company operations and investments.
·       Developing a company governance structure to encourage ethical behaviour and actions that serve the best interests of its stakeholders.
·       Management of risk exposure to maintain optimum risk-return trade-off that maximizes shareholder value (aka, risk management function).
