My client is a consulting firm and a specialist in its market with local and international corporations in various sectors.  They offer an exciting opportunity for a Financial Specialist to join the Competition and Regulatory practice area.

Qualification:
CA, CFA, ACCA or CIMA qualified.
Bachelor of Economics or Commerce degree.

Skills & Experience:
5 to 8 years’ experience.
Work experience in an economics consultancy, competition agency, regulated entity, or regulator a necessity.
Ability to build financial models and provide clear commentary on results a necessity.
Ability to manage a small team an advantage.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills – ability to communicate at all levels and present findings to
groups of people an essential requirement.
Ability to work as part of a team as well as independently.
Strong research, analytical and lateral thought processes.
Excellent attention to detail.
Reliable and dependable.
Strong relationship management and client service skills.
Strong planning and organisational skills, with ability to prioritise.
Confident networker.
South African citizens only.

Job Description:
Recruiting an experienced Finance Specialist to join the Competition and Regulatory practice area (CRE). Work performed will centre on consulting around detailed financial analysis relating to competition and regulatory issues.  The position will operate at a mid or senior level within the organisation and the incumbent will be responsible for driving various aspects of projects, liaising with other senior staff regarding project progress and providing guidance and input to analysts.  It will provide a wide exposure to various industries in South Africa and abroad to the related disciplines of competition economics and utility regulation.

Outline of main duties and responsibilities
·       Financial modelling.
·       Drafting extensive expert reports (Competition and Regulatory economics).
·       Interpreting audited financial statements and management accounts.
·       Liaising with clients in order to obtain and understand data inputs.
·       Managing a team of analysts.
