Our client is an important multinational company with headquarters in the


Supplier Development Lead Engineer

The responsibilities of the  Electromechanical systems engineer are as follows:

-         Develop and implement a Supplier Development Program,

-         Evaluate new suppliers,

-         Support First Part Approvals, Advanced Product Quality Plan (APQP), FMEAs, Capability Studies and Gage Repeatability and Reproducibility,

-         Lead Shoot Cost Analysis activities with Suppliers and Engineering team.

-         Supporting design to cost savings projects for existing products, including alternative material investigation

-         Reviewing drawings on development programs for manufacturability (DFM)

-         Responsible for risk mitigation activities,

-         Ensure supplier maintains customer expected quality, delivery and cost metrics and improve outliers,

-         Improve Supplier Performance Rating system,

-         Review raw material and part specifications issued to suppliers for accuracy and completeness,

-         Coordinate with other staff members to react to internal/external customer concerns during APQP cycle,

-         Ensure complete containment activities in line with 8d methodology, root cause analysis, develop action plan with countermeasures, and determine effectiveness for supply base problems,

-         Participate in design and product reviews,

-         Responsible for verification and approval of minor product or process changes made by suppliers for cost or quality improvements, using established change control practices,

-         Fully understanding supplier’s capabilities for RFI, RFQ and PO placement,

-         Traveling to suppliers' locations to help assess supplier’s capabilities and monitor improvement plans.


·         Master of Science in Mechanical or Electro/Mechanical Engineering,

·         Minimum 5 to 10 years’ experience with suppliers, Mechanical Design (Engineering),

·         Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and blueprints,

·         Prefer experience in Six Sigma, Lean, and Supply Chain Management,

·         Statistical and Quality Control knowledge &  experience,

·         Demonstrable experience in some of the primary commodity processes. i.e. Castings, plastic injection moldings, PCBA, sheet metal work  and electrical components,

·         Understanding of material specifications, manufacturing process, and secondary operations,

·         Excellent written and oral communication skills in English

·         Expert use of Solid works” or “Pro-E” experiences – CAD system
