Quality Production Manager

Job Description

People Management

 · To support & develop the factory personnel, providing coaching, mentoring, feedback and support to Team Leaders and Supervisors in order to develop their skills;

· To monitor performance and progress of Team Leaders/Supervisors and their respective teams, identifying any skills gaps;

· To ensure regular communication with the team to ensure the smooth operation of the whole department;

· To manage the team performance, conduct Team Leader/Supervisor annual performance reviews and support Team Leaders/Supervisors to conduct their team annual performance reviews;

· To review and agree department and individual business objectives, aligning these with the business objectives and agree team and individual key performance indicators; ·

 To undertake regular one to one supervision with the Team Leaders/Supervisors and ensure they undertake these with their team members;

· To develop and implement the departmental skills matrix, ensuring that the team have the appropriate training opportunity to develop and enhance their skills and performance;

· To be responsible for the appropriate departmental staffing levels, working with HR if a staffing need is identified;

· To ensure all staff are fully inducted into the business, including probationary reviews, identifying training needs and ensuring regular supervision.

· To assess the team's training and development requirements and be responsible for ensuring the team are up to speed with all process and procedural requirements to provide a seamless and excellent customer experience Service Delivery

· To develop excellent internal working relationships with managers across the business; adopting a joined up approach to resolving issues and improving quality and service;

· To drive efficiency and to identify, agree and implement improvements in internal processes in order to improve service delivery, cost effectiveness and customer expectations;

 · To be responsible for organising and overseeing all the health and safety requirements for the department;

· To support your team leaders and supervisors to assist with resolving any issues as and when required.

Operations

· To manage the department in line with the Company business plan; leading the department in the delivery of agreed goals and ensuring staff are engaged and work effectively to deliver the plan;

· To work closely with the management team and Supervisors/Team Leaders to plan work, set targets, and ensure finished products meet quality standards and are met on time and in full;

· To be responsible for ensuring that all staff comply with all safety procedures and maintain a safe working environment monitoring the production processes and adjusting schedules as required;

· To regularly monitor product standards and implement quality control programme as required;

· To monitor the progress of the department and the achievement of individual and departmental objectives and KPI's, ensuring these are aligned with the overall business objectives;

· To be responsible for the selection and maintenance of equipment; liaising with external suppliers and managers to ensure all machinery and equipment is fit for purpose and has regular safety and service checks;

· To develop and implement quality practices such as 5s and 6 Stigma (green belt preferable)

Job Summary:

To be responsible for the day to day management of the various factory floor departments including the Saws area, Doors, Whites & Colours & Quality Control. To ensure that the operating systems, people and procedures deliver quality product in an efficient cost effective and timely manner To manage the factory floor departments performances and set and agree objectives and KPI's

· To Implement quality management and regulatory compliance strategies

· To be responsible for maintaining a safe operating environment; organising and overseeing all Health & Safety checks and adhering to both company and legislative requirements

· To respond to and resolve customer issues in a timely and effective manner

· To ensure both internal and external work areas are secure at all times

· To monitor the quality of the service provided, complying at all times with the CAR reporting and rectifying process

· To manage the efficient utilisation of space and mechanical handling equipment

· To work in accordance with health and safety regulations, and also ensuring the health and safety of all staff. Reporting near misses and RIDDOR.

· Any other reasonable duty that may be assigned.

· To comply with Conservatory Outlet Quality Policy and objectives in every aspect of own work.

Skills, Knowledge and Experience:

· Experience of the manufacturing industry and running a fast moving manufacturing facility producing sales in excess of £20m

· Relevant industry expertise and experience of managing production

· Sound working knowledge of processing and planning to meet the needs of the business

· Strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate others, demonstrate a "can do" attitude and focus on getting things done

· Excellent planning and organisational skills

· Strong communication skills
