ROLE - Management Accountant (with potential to progress to Financial Controller over the next 2 - 3 years)LOCATION - Weybridge SALARY - £50KPurpose of role Reporting to the Head of Finance/Finance Director, this role collaborates closely with them to manage and execute key financial priorities including the production of the Group's management accounts and associated MI on a monthly basis. It is also the primary liaison between the finance team and the Private Client Advisers/Directors, responsible for their regular and ad-hoc financial reporting requirements. This is a high-pressure role suitable for a fully Qualified candidate, requiring flexibility of approach and outstanding Excel skills. For the right candidate, the role has the potential to progress to Financial Controller over a 2-3 year period. Key accountabilities The Management Accountant must hold the requisite technical knowledge, experience and qualifications to perform the role effectively, including: * Production of monthly management accounts for each of the Group's companies, comprising of various entities along with any associated MI * Production of the Group's consolidated management accounts on a monthly basis * Ensure all accounts within each company are fully reconciled and controlled General responsibilities Whilst not an exhaustive list, in addition to the above core duties the role is expected to comprise: * Supporting the FD in the production of annual budgets, providing control against actual and variance reports on a monthly basis * Performing key reconciliation tasks * Assisting with year-end processes, audits and statutory accounts preparation * Production of statutory financial reporting * Adhering to the accounting cycle and associated deadlines * Managing interactions with company personnel, notably the adviser community * Preparing commission statements on a monthly basis for advisers * Preparing ad-hoc reports as required by the Senior Management Team and Board * A degree of delegated supervision from the FD, with emphasis on delivering technical expertise in accounting matters and deputising when the FD is absent Experience and Qualifications The successful candidate will: * Fully Qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA accountant * Experience in a relevant management accounting role, within a comparable organisation (experience within the independent sector of the financial services industry is an advantage but not essential) * Have experience of Sage accounting software (or equivalent) and high-level Excel skills, including vlookups, hlookups and advanced formulas * Have a high level of attention to detail, the ability to stop and rectify errors and a high level of awareness for the consequences of errors * Demonstrate an ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines * Have sufficient understanding of the needs of Financial Services teams and FCA rules and compliances in order to effectively carry out the role.
