Job Description

Job Title: Product Manager 
Reports To: Brand Product Strategy & Planning Director
Department: Brand Strategy & Planning

VW New product application (A/A0/A00 class and convertible models)
Finding the market requirement & chance for new models, definition of potential segments & (strategic) competitors
Analysis of the general available product offers, and proposal of a market oriented product offer structure (positioning, product line up, price proposal, and equipment level).
Provide price index analysis ( to be maintained quarterly and in the event of major changes)
Volume potential analysis considering volume chance, substitution, aging and life cycle.
Establish complete product application documents and calculations 
Calculation of FOB-to-Retail price, price negotiation and application for support program if needed. 
Closely work together with Export Region to provide market input on  requests on new product & equipment  ideas / installation rate forecast / pricing opportunities / activities of competition
Support Planning Round process

Propose product line up of respective carlines, realignment & repositioning of existing products
Risk & Opportunity analysis for existing products to define the possibility of realignment & repositioning.
Monitor competition in terms of product, pricing and marketing activities and report on this
Derive and propose product measures to maintain attractiveness and competitiveness of current products
Initiate internal discussion of the repositioning proposal.
Feasibility analysis of price / volume and repositioning proposals incl. detailed competitor and segment analysis, index analysis, FOB-to-retail calculation, and product positioning. 
Preparation of application documents such as index, equipment, FOB-to-retail calculation, and competitor data.
Request, prepare and apply for support programs if needed.

Initial discussions about product launch plan and product life cycle management; communicate the related production & product information
Updating & communication information related about model year change, face lift, SOP, market entry, and so on.
Initiate the discussion about ordering of market entry cars, product launch schedule, and so on. 
Communication of internal departments about the features of upcoming models.


•Chinese and English Language skills essential, German advantageous
Necessary education:
•Relevant postgraduate course is preferred or MBA
Working experience (in years):
4~6 years, with relevant experience within the automotive industry
