Main Purpose of the job:

To manage the Corporate Banking portfolio in order to maintain good relationships with customers and ensure the relationships remain profitable to the Bank Key Performance Areas

Financial:            Responsible for divisional budget.

Assets:                 Capital expenditure within limit

Human:                Recommends recruitment of staff

                             Staff training

                             Recommends discipline of staff within limits

Position Requirements:

 Qualifications:                 Degree in Banking, Finance, Economics or related business area Experience 10                                          years’ experience in corporate banking of which five will have been at a senior                                          accounts executive level.

Core Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

  1. Acquires and manages Corporate Banking customer relationships through proactive and consultative approach and detailed understanding of existing and new customer businesses to enhance the Bank’s revenues
  2. Achieves budgeted growth in Corporate Banking within approved business risk parameters (by way of bringing in deposits that includes Fixed Deposits, Current accounts, savings accounts and call accounts). Main focus on SME and Commercial Markets
  3. Processes /draws up loan proposals for corporate banking customers within the agreed time
  4. Analyses account performance
  5. Analyses sustainability of the business looking at the market economy
  6. Draws up applications for customer limit annual reviews and extensions
  7. Analyses financials
  8. Analyses sustainability of the business looking at the market economy
  9. Analyses security proposed
  10. Following up accounts in excess /in arrears which are under our portfolio
  11. Assists customers to sign offer letters
  12. Prepares proposals.
  13. Staff training and customer education.
