6 months Contract - Project Manager IT

Job Description

Outline of main duties and responsibilities

  • Manage the execution of Client’s strategic projects or programs within the specified and agreed upon constraints of quality, scope, time and cost;
  • Create and maintain project plans;
  • Manage project budgets;
  • Assist in creating Request for Proposals (RFP) and managing the RFP process;
  • Coordinate resources and assist with issue and conflict resolution;
  • Manage project risks and impacts and ensure appropriate control measures are provided and implemented;
  • Provide appropriate and timely feedback regarding project or program status as per agreement with relevant stakeholders;
  • Prepare and maintain project reports and run steercom meetings (internal as well as external);
  • Evaluate projects to ensure that benefits are realized;
  • Ensure adherence to the Project Management methodology and governance structures;
  • Assist in the development and enhancement of the relevant Project Management processes and templates;
  • Train operational and ICT staff on how to use Project Office tools and templates;
  • Provide leadership, mentorship and guidance to managers carrying out projects within their respective business units;
  • Assist in the roll out of the Project Office throughout the Client Group. Skills and experience required Qualifications
  • Degree with an accredited Project Management qualification such as: PRINCE 2 Practitioner; PMI Project Management Professional (PMP) or APM Certified Project Manager (CPM); Experience
  • Minimum of 10 years Project Management experience;
  • Previous experiencing managing programs; 
  • Previous experience managing projects across multiple business units and/or global boundaries;
  • Previous experience managing projects within the asset management industry.

Reporting structure The Project Manager will report to the Senior Manager – Project Office based in the Cape Town office. Remuneration level Remuneration will be market related and commensurate with experience and seniority.
