Civil Engineering Maintenance Coordinator

Job Description

• Support and improve site civil safety rules whilst maintaining safe working practices both for self and others. Specifically act as a role model for others in area of civil safety.
• Maintaining and implementing civil engineering standards.
• Prepare written scopes for civil maintenance works. Obtain and vett prices for civil maintenance works and issue Purchase Order’s to civil contractors for civil maintenance works.
• Attend weekly PU planning meetings and ensure all civil works are included in the PU plan.
• Effectively manage Civil Action Notes raised by the Civil Inspector on his specific PU(s).
• Manage and supervise Contractor personnel and ensure works are completed safely within budget, to programme and cost and to required standard of quality.
• Manage their own time and sequence of work to meet priorities set by others. Recognise and seek guidance from the Team Leader when demands on role mean conflicting priorities cannot be met.
• Small Projects Group support.
• Turnaround responsibility.
• Plant Change support and signatory (as applicable).
• Authorised Engineer permit signatory (as applicable).
• Authorised Excavation Engineer permit signatory (as applicable).
• Provide out of normal working hour support (as applicable).

• Completed a recognised engineering apprenticeship with ONC, HNC or other higher level of competency.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in civil engineering/building work.
• Able to demonstrate a high level of safety awareness,
• Preferably has knowledge of petro-chemical safety procedures and systems.
• Have experience in working as a member of multi-disciplined, as well as, single discipline teams
• Have extensive experience of maintaining civil/building assets.
• Be capable of fault finding and repairing on civil/building assets.
• Be able to liaise with Engineering, Operations and Contracts and Procurement functions at all levels
• Be competent in using IT software for the production of civil scopes and use of SAP for raising requisitions and payment of contractor invoices.
• The incumbent has to be physically fit and be able to work at heights and in confined spaces.
