Asia Pacific Diagnostics Manager

Job Description

Key Tasks

Provide regional direction for global Vehicle Communications Software and Hardware projects.

Manage Product Development and Product Management teams which are responsible for document creation, software code development and validation.

Responsible for strategy and roadmap development activities driving a common, advanced VCI/VCS architecture.

Practical application of technical background to assist in developing product line strategy and specification development which would include outsourcing of relevant technologies

Interface with Diagnostics and RSI shared services ensuring quality and customer satisfaction.

Manufacturing interface on new product introduction, as well as, support for existing products.

Management of Customer Care and repair.

Administrative issues, personnel, budgets, reports, and communication.

Interface with other Engineering groups to share technologies and foster a creative environment.


Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent and five years of related experience in progressively responsible positions.

Master’s degree preferred.

Strong working technical knowledge in management of software and hardware projects.

Experience in the Asian automotive aftermarket professional diagnostic area, developing robust, cost effective product solutions.

Experience working with remote engineering sites.

Experience managing sub-contract engineering activities to supplement in-house competences.

Leadership skills to work effectively in a matrix relationship with business units, product management, manufacturing and distribution.

Strong interpersonal, communication and project planning skills to accomplish goals within a matrix environment.

Financial acumen and the ability to understand strategic financial opportunities.

Must be proactive and display a high level of initiative.

Must be willing to travel internationally.

Fluency in spoken and written English language skills is required.
