Business Controller

Our clients is a multinational company how delivers a broad range of transport and logistics services, including transport optimization, warehousing and equipment management. With a network of 30 group-owned locations, active throughout Europe and in the bulk and volume transport markets ranks among the largest road hauliers in Europe. With over 2.700 employees, the company operates a modern fleet of 1.200 mainly Euro IV and vehicles, 2.500 loading units and 125.000 m2 of storage space.

The purpose of the role:

As a Business Controller you will have to prepare divisional management reporting, including analysis and comments, consolidate business units divisions reports, prepare divisional budgets and forecasts, prepare business cases/investment proposals. You will have the responsibility to support divisions and Business Units management in ad hoc questions, projects credit and risk management, performing profitability and margin analysis.

You will have to assist business units managers to analyze financial and operational information, identifying strengths/weaknesses and recommending improvements in methods and processes, being responsible for financial investigation and analysis of the business unit performance in all areas to local management.

The Business Controller will report and present the financial outcome, business plans and projections to the board team and will cooperate closely with the financial manager in Cluj

The Business Controller has to follow the compliance regulatory requirements and group policies.

The Business Controller reports to the CFO and the Managing Director International Transport and supervise in the area of financial reporting the Business Units administrators and assistant controllers of his division.


Ideal candidate:

As a Business Controller you have:

  • Master degree in a Finance domain
  • 10-15 years financial experience in an international setting
  • Preferably logistical and/or transport experience
  • Knowledge of administrative processes and developments
  • Knowledge of and experience with automated systems
  • A goal oriented, commercially drive, analytical, communicative and innovative personality
  • Good knowledge of the English language
  • Good experience with Microsoft Excel
  • Romanian full proficiency is required
