Operations Maintenance Coordinator

Job Description

DIMENSIONS: • Responsible for reviewing and prioritising all work notifications raised in GSAP according to the GAME ME process. • Ensures the schedule of maintenance work is communicated to the operator shifts for operational preparation. • Understand and escalate, where appropriate, the impact of decisions on MC budget Job Purpose:• The Operations & Maintenance Coordinator is the primary interface between the Operations and Maintenance Teams for one half of the Production Unit, and is responsible for ensuring the overall effectiveness of this interface. • Specific responsibilities include: • Prioritisation of maintenance work using the prioritisation matrix. • Effective completion of the PU’s scheduled and reactive work through the Maintenance Execution process. • Ensuring an effective Permit to Work process in the PU, including the Safe Isolation of Plant & Equipment. • Maintains an evergreen T/A work scope between turnarounds ORGANISATION: Direct reports: 1 business partner with housekeeping and operator support duties PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES: • Ensures the PU complies with the ME process • Processes job notifications into work orders after appropriate prioritisation • Identifies & assesses Emergency & Schedule Breaker items that need to be completed outside the schedule, following the POP process • Sets completion dates for planned work scope for a fully integrated maintenance team including contract activities • Plans and co-ordinates with Operations and Engineering groups daily, weekly and long term maintenance activities and inspection items, to ensure minimum disruption to plant availability and to ensure safe job methods and plans. • Liaise with the Production Supervisor in order to determine business requirements and consequence when setting the Maintenance plan • Ensures that maintenance tasks and planned operational activities that will, or have the potential to, impact on operations are highlighted and assessed with the Production Specialist in accordance with the “3 Month Look Ahead” process. • Identify opportunities for Continuous Improvement in order to reduce overall delivered maintenance cost within the PU. • Participates in Reliability Improvement Teams. • Issues daily Operating Instructions for maintenance preparation for shift teams and for information. • Reviews plant logs to determine plant performance. • In conjunction with the operations team ensures all preparation work is completed prior to release of plant and equipment consistent with the plan. • Promotes HSE within the PU and be seen to maintain and promote standards within the PU. • Ensures high visibility in the field by personally visiting a high proportion of all maintenance activities on his area. • Supports the completion of safety certificates as one of the principle ASIs for the PU. • Ensures that equipment preparation is carried out in conjunction with the SIOPE system. • Acts as operations focal point and Operations Nominee for plant changes, including training requirements for operators. • Maintains the unit’s Out of Service Equipment register, using the process to escalate over-due items. • Contracts focal point for operations spend e.g. Hewden’s equipment hire • Maintains an evergreen TA workscope between turnarounds, participates in TA scope definition and challenge workshop, and supports the execution of unit TA’s. Key challenges: To align the Unit maintenance priorities to the ME processes Ensuring equipment is prepared in a timely manner and released safely Job Knowledge, Skills and Experience: complete for Recruitment: • HNC or equivalent or other demonstrated higher levels of competency • Knowledge of refinery / manufacturing operations principles, business processes and systems. • Extensive knowledge of Utilities operations is highly desirable but not essential. • Good organisational, communication and interpersonal skills. • ASI or FPS or willing to train to become an ASI or FPS. • Experienced in the use of GSAP and Excel IT tools • Be able to prioritise and to meet tight deadlines • Willing to be a member of the operations duty rota Competences: HSE: • HSE Safety Leadership • Risk Identification and Assessment • Risk Management • Review and Improvement Business and Personal • Customer Focus • Delivering for the Client • Planning & Organising • Solving Problems and Making Decisions • Working with Others • Developing Self & Others • Leading Others
