1ST & 2ND Level IT System Administrator (m/f/d)

 

Your responsibilities:

  • Acting as Single Point of Contact for incidents and anomalies
  • Installation and configuration of operating system and other software
  • Analysis, planning and performance tuning of Hardware and Software installations, ensuring compatibility between subsystems
  • Mentoring of the system performance, investigation of Hardware and system Software problems
  • Liaise with the external providers of Hardware
  • System Software maintenance of the request and follow up the of maintenance interventions
  • Perform administration and installation of databases
  • Administration of user accounts, disk quotas and technical user support
  • Support to Software development and maintenance on system related matters
  • Implementation and maintenance of scripts and/or procedures where applicable for the automated and/or controlled execution of the above activities
  • Generation or update of technical documentation in relation to system upgrades

 

Your Profile:

  • University degree in computer science or equivalent
  • Extensive knowledge with GNU/Linux operating systems (SLES/Redhat), AIX and/or Solaris as well as with virtualization technologies (NMware and/or PowerVC)
  • Minimum 2 years hands-on experience in:
    • Shell scripting
    • Basic IT System design skills
    • Definition, implementation, testing and documentation of end-to-end system changes
    • Preparation of technical documentation in English
  • Good communication skills
  • A plus would be:
    • Knowledge of Cloud Technologies (OpenStack, Docker/Kubernetes, orchestration via Morpheus, automation via ansible/salt, etc.)
    • Lenovo/HP Blade Hardware Management
    • Experience with the monitoring tools based on Nagios
    • Experience on helpdesk and ticket handling
    • ITIL experience
