Job Description

Our client is a leading company in aquaculture industry in the Europe. They are proud to have their products present in the European market for over 40 years and now days 80% of the production is exported. Major investments in technology for breeding, production and processing made the company become one of the most technologically advanced companies in the production of sea bass and sea bream. With a production volume of nearly 10.000 tons per year, the company is one of the biggest in its business field. The company implemented sophisticated technological methods in compliance with strict environmental regulations as well as highly efficient processes in manufacturing and logistics. All this makes the company a reliable partner of its quality-conscious customers in the European food retail and out-of-home sector.

We are looking for communicative and sales oriented candidates with an excellent knowledge of the food retail industry in Germany and relevant experience in distribution and marketing of fish and fish products preferably.

The main tasks

Sales manager will take over the responsibility for enlarging the market and brand development in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Acquiring of new customers in the food retail business and the further development of existing business relationships (especially Metro) will be the main targets. Furthermore, the tasks will include: 

  • Structuring of sales politics for the market
  • Continuous screening of the market, market analysis 
  • Development of strategies in order to increase market shares
  • Establishing and maintaining a network of influencers in the food retail sector
  • Negotiating terms and supply agreements
  • Conducting acquisition discussions and visit clients on a regular basis
  • Following up of the sales and dealing with problems on daily basis
  • Entering new products on the market

As a matter of course, you can rely on your superiors and the internal sales team in the HQ who will provide competent support whenever needed.

Your profile

  • University diploma is preferred, ideally with a strong reference to the retail business
  • Several years of successful activity in sales of fish (and) fish products, ideally as Key Account Manager or Area Sales Manager 
  • Profound knowledge of the market and a good network in the food retail sector 
  • High level of analytical competence and KPI orientation 
  • Well organized and able to create business independently
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with aptitude in building relationship
  • Open-mindedness and persuasiveness
  • Mobility and readiness to travel 
  • Excellent English in writing and speaking
