Job Description

In order to secure the expected growth and development, our client, who is one of the world leaders in active and sportswear industry, is looking for a Key Account Manager for its Wholesale Business in DACH region. The primary focus is on strengthening the relationships with the most significant accounts and maximizing the growth of the assigned territory including creating new prospects and expanding existing accounts. The role should be based in Nürnberg, and will work in strict partnership with the Commercial Business Units located in the countries.

 

Key Account Manager - Activewear (m/f) Nürnberg, Germany

 

In order to secure the expected growth and development, our client, who is one of the world leaders in active and sportswear industry, is looking for a Key Account Manager for its Wholesale Business in Germany. The primary focus is on strengthening the relationships with the most significant accounts and maximizing the growth of the assigned territory including creating new prospects and expanding existing accounts. The role will report directly to DACH Country Manager, should be based in Nürnberg, and will work in strict partnership with the Commercial Business Units located in the countries. 

 

Skills and Qualifications

We are looking for a skilled team player, self-driven and organized individual, energetic, goals and customers oriented, able to communicate and negotiate, passionate in sports with fast sensitivity of identifying with our Client’s brand and products, able to build relationships at all levels, able to consistently deliver on agreed objectives and happy to be challenged by complex problems.

The key responsibilities for the position are:

 

  • Manage the existing Key Accounts and build long terms relationships with new Accounts, in order to accomplish and advance sales budgets, ensuring that they do not turn to the competition.
  • Achieve net sales and gross margin targets within the assigned portfolio of Accounts, in line with the annual strategic objectives and budgets set by the company.
  • Develop KPI's and metrics to produce volume, value, distribution, ranging, pricing, profit, share, space and display.
  • Accountability for the P&L of the assigned Key Accounts, through the most effective management of company’s range of products.
  • Contribute to the development of the annual operating plan and strategic objectives working with the Chief Commercial Officer and the Commercial Business Units located in the countries
  • Provide accurate forecasts to the Operations Team and ensure an effective communication flow with the Order Placement and the Category Management Teams to deliver the agreed mix of products and service level to Clients in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Resolve any issues and problems faced by Clients and deal with complaints to maintain their trust.
  • Prepare regular reports of progress and forecasts to internal and external stakeholders.

 

Job requirements

  • 5 – 7 years of experience as a successful Key Account Manager and/or Country Manager         from international apparel companies (fashion or sporting goods)
  • Proven record of accomplishments in similar roles
  • University Degree in Economics or related discipline
  • Fluency in German and  English, both written and oral, is highly preferred
