Job Title: Head, Corporate 1

Reports to: Chief Executive Officer

Direct Reports: SBU Heads, Wholesale Bank

Client:        Banking Institution

Location:  Ghana

Salary:      Excellent Package + Salary

Job objective(s)

To lead a team tasked with developing and effectively managing both existing and prospective customers of the Bank in the Wholesale Banking Department for increased and sustainable profitability with minimal risk exposure

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Identify, develop and supervise the management of key customer relationships of all SBUs in Wholesale Bank
  • Cross marketing of other banks product to meet individual needs of customer's personnel
  • Compliance with credit policy/regulatory requirements
  • Responsible for supervising the packaging of customer’s credit requests, negotiation of rates and fees and seeking approval of same
  • Establish and maintain close relationships with current and potential customers
  • Assist the Unit Heads to formulate business plans, budgets, forecasts, medium/long term strategic plans.
  • Any other duties that maybe assigned

CHALLENGES

  • Inadequate training for team members
  • Delay in processing of transactions by other units
  • Frauds and Forgeries
  • Slow and lengthy credit approval system
  • Inadequate operational support

PLANNING

  • Micro: one week; Macro: One quarter, half yearly and annual.

KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS

  • Turnaround time for customers
  • Meeting customers credit requests in a timely manner
  • TAT in carrying out activities and meeting deadlines/targets

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education

Minimum education level: First degree

Experience

Minimum experience: 12 years relevant banking experience; 6 years in senior management position

KEY COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS

Knowledge

  • Bank Policies, Procedures and Guidelines
  • Legal/Regulatory  framework
  • Innovative, able to identify and adapt products and services to a range
  • Exceptional relationship management skills required
