Procurement Engineer as DfX – Lead for Medical Systems (m/f) in Hamburg

Your challenge

In your Role at the Development and Manufacturing Center (DMC) Hamburg, BIU Diagnostic X-Ray (DXR) you will be part of the DXR Procurement team. You will work closely with representatives from both the R&D and Operations organizations. The goal is to build an outstanding procurement competence and to improve our performance by ensuring our approach in End2End driving, aligning product development, supply chain, service and finance. You will manage and support the cost down initiatives of the Diagnostic X-Ray (DXR) Business, using a variety of tools / processes.

Your Responsibilities

  • Manage, define and guide large cost reduction projects
  • Ensure complete and timely visibility into financial convention results, and initiate follow-up / corrective action where needed
  • Build organizational capability on DfX (Design for Excellence)
  • Track the DfX (Design for Excellence) convention project pipeline and guide the sector teams to keeping it well-filled
  • Generate and lead cost savings through DfX workshops/conventions; Deliver and Implement cost savings
  • Report procurement Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) on factory level
  • Development and implementation of actions from DfX conventions in factory

We are looking for

  • Academic degree in Engineering
  • At least 4 years of relevant sourcing/procurement experience from a global supply base of mechanical commodities
  • Experience combining deep technical knowledge with outstanding analytical skills
  • Project Management and controlling experience
  • Strong understanding of Supply Chain Models including the translation to cost and a solid financial background is required (e.g. P&L, budgets, etc.) experienced in DfX (Design for Excellence) and cost reduction
  • Six Sigma, Lean experience
  • Proactive self-starter, eager to take initiative and drive change
  • Hands-on, high energy, problem solver, able to convince and establish good Relationships with stakeholders
  • Fluent in German and English
