Job Title:   Regional CIO

Language:  English and French is Mandatory


Key technology member of the Group Technology leadership and strategy team responsible for guiding and managing performance of the country and Regional IT organization. Strong thought leader and interface between IT and the business; accountable for discovering, shaping, and prioritizing how IT can solve unmet business needs in a given function or domain. Holds business leaders accountable for resource commitments through project life and ensures value promised in discovery phase is ultimately captured. Responsible for leading the execution of Group IT strategy


The Regional CIO is responsible for providing direction and managing performance of the country and cluster IT organization. He/ She works with the business in the clusters to resolve their IT related issues and implement the overall IT priorities, report IT performance in different clusters. The role is responsible for the overall IT services delivery in country clusters.


  • Report directly into the CIO as a key interface between clusters and Group IT 
  • Liaise with different business owners in clusters to understand the business requirements and align the IT operation with the business objectives
  • Coordinate and ensures smooth operations of in-country IT services in different countries within the cluster
  • Lead and support a team of country IT heads to ensure compliance with Group IT initiatives and requirements are met
  • Ensure compliance to IT policies and practices in the countries
  • Provide feedback on cluster IT performance to the CIO
  • Support the business users in affiliates on their IT needs
  • Share best practices and knowledge with team and promote a culture of continuous development within the IT function
  • Identify and prioritize IT requirements
  • Manage systems and third-party suppliers to ensure service continuity
  • Audit IT systems and processes to ensure they are fit for purpose
  • Support the establishment of IT infrastructure in the clusters
  • Ensure the IT function works to service level agreements and compliance standards
  • Oversee the execution of various implementation projects and monitors process and system standards
  • Be accountable for the IT budget in the clusters


Experience & Qualifications

  • A degree in Computer Science, IS, Computer Engineering or related 
  • Post graduate degree a plus


  • 10+ experience in IT 
  • Experience in managing IT service delivery
  • Experience in multi-national setting

  • Understanding of banking IT

  • Able to work on multiple tasks, dealing with multiple functions and manage multiple resources in a matrix organization
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to explain technology solutions in business terms, establish rapport and persuade others
