For a leading international bank, Antal Banking & Insurance Division is looking for a talented:

Country Coverage Associate

The role is part of the Banking Coverage team and is responsible for supporting the Global Relationship Bankers in providing exceptional customer services whilst delivering performance growth, improved efficiencies in full compliance with the bank priorities and global initiatives.

Purpose of the job:

- Client related activities: prepare client presentations and marketing materials, interact directly with clients at different levels of seniority on the origination and execution of transactions, as an integral part of the coverage team

- Support the GRBs on client business development activities (i.e. revenues data analysis, returns calculation, client planning), credit exposure reconciliation, business and administrative tasks

- Manage all aspects of the operational and service relationship between the bank and a portfolio of clients, having also visibility and accountability on the portfolio’s performances

- Work in close liaison with the client management teams, banking middle office and product partners (including loan and debt capital markets, leverage finance, acquisition financing, trade finance, treasury services, FX and derivatives products) adopting a collective approach to relationship management to ensure optimal service delivery and strong client intensity

- Undertake all required actions in support of the development of the banking team and its performances

Principal Accountabilities:

·         Support the achievement (against targets) of revenues generation, products delivery, customer satisfaction and costs containment

·         Increase banks’s share of wallet with clients

·         Provide high quality industry/sector, competitive landscape and client analysis to support business development, portfolio management and credit risk assessment

·         Cover First Line of Defence responsibilities, managing the risks and KYC processes and ensuring appropriate escalation when required

·         Support senior management in identifying strategies to maintain and enhance overall relationship returns and ensure early identification of potential credit issues

·         Identify marketing opportunities, undertaking appropriate analysis and preparation of proposals, presentations and pitches for new products and services

·         Provide general support to the GRBs in servicing client relationships and enhancing income generation

·         Prepare briefing notes for the GRBs/Relationship Managers in advance of key client meetings

·         Act as primary point of contact for clients and internal colleagues

·         Work with credit and risk departments on the preparation of structured and focused recommendations for clients’ annual reviews and new money approval requests

·         Complete review and submission of credit risk asks, including, among other activities: limit excess/exception monitoring, security/documentation review and monthly credit control reports

·         Understand and ensure compliance with all relevant internal and external rules, regulations and procedures 

·         Engage with relevant product teams to ensure coordinated approach towards achieving relationship development objectives

·         Liaise with members of the client service team, ensuring an effective enhance client relationships maintenance

·         Develop and maintain up to date individual client plans and ensure correct business intelligence reporting

 

Requirements:

- Banking experience of at least 4/5 years in a coverage role within a top-tier international financial institution

- Relevant client experience and business relationships

- Ability to work in an international/global environment with strong client focus, proven professional expertise and internal credibility built based on trust and within a complex environment

- Strong analytical, judgemental and financial skills

- Ability to work under pressure in a dynamic and international environment where both individual as well as team abilities are key to success

- Strong relationship and communication skills

- Exceptional prioritising, organisational and time management skills

- Ability to take decisions and be accountable for them

- Strong knowledge of accounting, ability to analyse financial and business reports, financial modelling

- Solid knowledge of the banking business, including products and services offered, key drivers for revenues, profitability and capital control

- Appreciation of the changing economic, social and political environment in Italy and Europe

- Knowledge of international business and various industry sectors

- Broad business awareness and ability to deal with complex problems in a structured and effective manner

- Language: Italian – native; English – proficient (both written and verbal)
