Production /Plant Manager

Job Description


Implements the management direction and co-ordination of the Manufacturing / Personalization / Operations function in a single country or market as determined by the company Management and the Plant Manager. Has secondary responsibility for Manufacturing and Personalization Operation where objective is to fulfill sales demand at  agreed service levels whilst maintaining optimum cost and quality standards.


Pre-Press Unit, Press Unit, Lamination Unit, Finishing Units, Maintenance Unit, Inventory Manager, Milling & Embedding Manager, Personalization and other reports.

Job Duties/ Responsibilities/ Accountabilities: Demand Fulfillment :

  • Contribute and be involved in the development and management of both the Manufacturing and Personalization infrastructure to meet the present and future demands of the marketplace as defined by the Sales forecast and SBP.
  • Implement continuous improvement standards in customer service standards.
  • Implement optimum sourcing strategies using the Company’s Manufacturing and Personalization facilities, Contract Fillers and Suppliers as determined by the organization.


Cost Control :

  • Responsibility for optimizing Manufacturing and Personalization costs and manage resources to operate within budget or below.
  • Monitor performances and implement activities in the Personalization and Manufacturing processes to demonstrate continuous improvement.
  • Implement and operate the effective Maintenance program to maximize effective life
  • and performance of assets.
  • Implement the capital plan for Buildings and Machinery in order to comply with all regulations and engineering standards.


Quality :

  • Provide procedures and processes to assure the quality of products through the entire Supply Chain under the direct guidance and supervision of the Plant Manager.
  • Ensure determined HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points) and GMP (Good
  • Manufacturing Practice) programs are effective.
  • Operate the Manufacturing and Personalization system
  • ​Implement the Environmental policy as determined by the management to meet all local legislation.


Organization :

Manage the structure to ensure it delivers:

  • High level of demand fulfillment performance.
  • Continuous improvement in all Operations performance indicators.
  • Optimal labour costs.
  • Good IR climate with operator involvement programs.
  • Effective Operational Safety programs and GMP programs.
  • Effective relationships with external agencies and local authorities.


Education Qualification:

•      Science, Engineering or related Technology Degree.

•      Training      in     Financial      planning      and     control.

Professional Qualification:


Required Experience:

  • Smart   Card   Manufacturing   Plant   Experience   (must include PC cards experience).
  • Technical      Operations      Positions      in     ‘SmartCard manufacture.
  • Plant Management Experience.
  • Plant Production Experience
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Budget   responsibility    for  Operations   Overhead   and Controllable costs in Manufacturing.
