Design Head –Automotive Lighting (Four Wheeler)

Area of Responsibility
A Design & Development 1. Product Engineer – Exterior lighting for a contract position in Pune Relationships Report to: Engineering Manager of Lighting Engineering. Product/System: Automotive Head Lamp and Tail Lamp.
2 . Customer interfacing/Liaison works All aspects of product design and development, from customer concept thru final requirements, review with customer and communication. Conduct feasibility reviews and communicate with client for all development engineering issues. Control and support engineering data/documents delivery between customers. Support identification and resolution of Quality issues on Head/Tail Lamp between customers. Support customer development stage events based on product development timing such as Proto build, Pilot, Pre Production, and Production. Perform benchmarking and technology trend survey on Automotive Lighting system.
Lead root cause analysis and drive proper corrective actions for technical issues. Maintain industry standards while balancing the need for cost effectiveness and high quality. In-depth knowledge of Electrical hardware design, material, and system. Drive continuous improvement of product design for reduced cost, increased performance, and high quality. Solid understanding of manufacturing processes involved with lighting Electric/Electronic parts. Keen system level focus upon up defining and verifying product engineering requirements and related vehicle interface requirements.
Prioritize and guide group activities to design new products, modify existing products, and optimize designs for assembly.
B. Project Management
1. Internal and external stakeholder management Managing escalations by enforcing the application of valid escalation concepts throughout the project lifetime Involving program management pro-actively by providing transparent project status reports. Sharing background information on decisions already made or to be made in the future Presenting project status taking account of a continuous preparation and interpretation of internal and external information; monitoring, reporting and forecasting the current status of the project’s main targets in the dimensions of “Time”, “Cost” and “Quality / Maturity”; integrating the project team’s status reports and assessments
2. Leadership Inspiring and motivating a team by defining and communicating expectations towards the single team members, paying attention to the needs of the team and recognizing their performance; providing feedback to support the individuals’ development
C. People responsibility Ownership and accountability of the project. Motivate and drive the teams Devise the growth plans and carryout implementation
D. Qualification: Engineering Degree in Mechanical /Production preferred. E. Years of Experience: 15 Years and above
