General Manager - Regional Business Development - APAC

About the Role:

A leader in the FMCG and merchandising space based in Singapore is looking for a General Manager - Regional Business Development with a minimum of 10 years’ experience in a similar industry, especially in sales, marketing, business development related work, etc.  The incumbent will be responsible for regional BD; hunt & sell regional BD opportunities, new industry penetration & service innovation and provide pitch support to country BD teams  

 

Minimum Requirements

  • Minimum ten years’ experience in a similar industry, especially in sales, marketing, business development related work, etc
  • Minimum five years’ experience in a business development role in a service provider (preferably in a similar BTL industry service provider)
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Master’s in Business Administration is preferred

Job Description

Financial Contributions

  • Deliver new business development targets

Operational Contributions

  • Drive the identification, evaluation, development and pitching of regional business opportunities/leads 
  • Lead contract negotiation activities with regional clients to facilitate deal closing
  • Drive the development of industry specific service opportunities and credentials, and support the local country teams in new industry penetration through local skill development and local pitch support
  • Support local country teams with new service innovation initiatives and cross-pollination of service innovations across the region
  • Provide in-country BD and pitch support to prioritized countries

People Contributions

  • Support learning and development of country BD teams 
  • Drive self-learning and improvement in the area of business development as part of continuous learning process

Functional skills and knowledge

  • Demonstrated experience in applying business development principles for medium to large sized companies 
  • Demonstrated application of strategic thinking, business acumen, in thought processes and decision-making
  • Proven client and customer account management skills
  • Demonstrated ability to manage global/regional/country level assignments and projects
  • Proven proficiencies in office productivity tools (e.g. Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
  • Demonstrated appreciation and respect for cultural sensitivities especially in cross-country/culture interactions
