Job Description

Our client is an international FMCG distribution and services company that provides superior service in delivering a range of energy products. The company is dealing in several countries both in US and Europe and it’s counted in Fortune 500.                                            

Chief Accountant – Suceava office

The CHIEF ACCOUNTANT is in-charge of all accounting activities, coordinating and supervising the accounting department, preparing monthly and annual reporting and budget, being responsible for optimization of the economic processes and for all Statutory reporting: verify and submit Statutory Tax Statements and Reports to ANAF, financial statements preparation, ensure the existence and accuracy of mandatory accounting registers etc.

Key responsibilities for this position:

  • Check the accuracy of the presentation in accounting of transactions with external suppliers
  • Ensure compliance with payment deadlines for external suppliers, according to the contractual conditions.
  • Perform and coordinate daily/month-end/annual accounting activities (yearly/interim financial statements for submission to fiscal authorities, P&L, Balance sheet, provisions, depreciation, payrolls, credit management, cash-flow, multi-currency, banks, payments & allowances, balance confirmation, reserve management, budget construction & follow-up);
  • Prepare the accounting reports and monthly/quarterly/yearly tax statements, statistics, financial and reporting statements;
  • Collaborate with the Romanian authorities and participate in auditing process.

Academic Background (mandatory)

Bachelor’s degree in Economics/Finance/Accounting, with extensive knowledge in accounting, fiscality and taxes.

English language (mandatory)

Required skills and experience:

  •  Very good communication and problem-solving skills, highly team oriented; 
  •  Strong sense of responsibility; attentiveness, detail oriented; 
  •  Excellent communications skills and teamwork skills; 
  •  English as the working language;
  •  Ability to analyse financial statements;
  •  Contract management and preliminary review capabilities familiar with the Romanian tax system;
  •  Ability to develop localized financial management system and process.

Working Experience

  • Previous relevant experience (at least 5 years);
  • Good technical knowledge of MS office (Medium Excel);
  • Ability to analyse financial statements;

  • Ability to develop localized financial management system and process.
