Chief Compliance Officer

Job Description

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES: 

Policies, Procedures & Framework • Developing / updating global Compliance Policy, AML framework, policies and guidelines in line with global regulatory requirements. • Ensure Compliance Systems up gradation to maintain the standard systems at all times • Ensure compliance to all applicable AML/CTF guidelines, XM AML- CTF policies, Global AML authorities and other local regulations.

Authentication & Escalation

• Ensure verification & approval of Agents’ Due Diligence / Documentation / Records before activation of an agent. • Ensure escalation of customer / agent related AML issues

Regulatory compliance and risk mitigation of agents

• Monitoring of IFTI transaction reporting to AUSTRAC on weekly basis to ensure regulatory deadline of 10 business days for any report is not exceeded.   • Suspicious Matter Reports (SMR) submission to AUSTRAC within 3 business days of suspicious matter being identified. • Agent On-boarding compliance checks prior to AUSTRAC registration  • Re-assessment of Agent Risk profile where warranted by conducting analysis of agent risk in comparison to the agent declaration at on-boarding stage  • Assessment and audits of agents by desktop audit and management of mystery shop visits

Board Oversight

• Scheduling Quarterly Compliance Committee Meetings and formulating agenda, recording of Minutes • Maintaining record of Half yearly Board Meeting • Liaising with Management, Legal & Company Secretary to procure formal Board approvals • Update GHQ of key regulatory updates from time to time

Monitoring Transactions

• Ensure adhoc analysis of transactions considering combination of criteria including but not limited to high value transactions, destination of high risk jurisdiction; enquiries / suspicion raised by authority / regulatory. • FX check of AU transactions on quarterly basis to determine any TTRs reportable to Austrac • Satisfy AML Audit for all regulatory and statutory bodies

MIS

• Execute MIS reports on frequent transaction, suspicious transaction and action taken • Action on Deviations & Exceptions

Training

• Support the agents on resolution of a problem. • Educate them regularly on “AML and CTF policy” • Organize periodical Compliance Training & Data Quality Training for Affiliates

Updates, Policies and Procedures

• Acquire continuous updates on XM products, current policies & procedures, methods of verification, reporting and filing of various documents
