IT Manager

Job Description

Job Title:             IT Manager

Reports to:         CIO

Department:      IT

Location:             Head Office of the country

Main Responsibilities:

1. Operational responsibility for the server, workplace and network infrastructure of the entire bank including the branches.

2. Administrative and operational responsibility for the core banking system and attached components.

3. User support for all central and workplace systems (MS Windows, MS SQL, banking applications, e-mail), derivation and realization of improvements

4. Administration of the whole IT environment – from ad-hoc solving printer problems over the daily backup up to the development and testing of disaster recovery scenarios

5. Guaranteeing IT security and operational standards of the banking system providers

6. Strategic planning of the future system environment as well as investment and cost calculations together with the Chief Information Officer  and corporate headquarters

7. Assessment, negotiations and directing of external providers while meeting the budget targets

8. In-country project management of complex IT projects

9. Team Leadership

10. Training and knowledge transfer within the IT team

Necessary experience and knowledge:

o   Degree in information technology or business information technology or comparable qualification

o   At least 5 years of professional experience in an operational IT role

o   Evidence of sound experience in:-

  • Administering modern MS Windows server and PC environments (hardware, operation system, MS Office, SQL database, network connections).
  • IT security tools and methods (firewalls, VPN,...)

o   Backup and recovery procedures

o   Problem solving, analytical and process oriented

o   Ability to communicate effectively both in writing and orally in XXXX (language) and English

o   Ability to take responsibility and work on own initiative

o   Willingness to travel to bank branches throughout the country 

o   Desired experience and knowledge

o   Experience in:

  • IT project work
  • Selecting providers and negotiating contracts
  • Windows batch scripting and Linux
  • Evidence of Openness to learning new technologies and methodologies
  •  Effective leadership of employees and providers

·         Results expected to achieve:

  •   Derivation of the local IT strategy out of the Group/LFS IT strategy
  • Perform the IT budget planning and meet the target figures
  • Prevent unplanned downtimes of the systems and infrastructure by proactive actions
  • Support business project planning and manage IT related parts within the defined frame
  • Reach and maintain IT Security standards given by local authorities and Group/LFS
