Job Description

The Engineer to provide planning, Drilling and Blasting and optimizing mine designs to meet production targets and maximise resource extraction, build long and short-term budget forecasts. 

 

Responsibilities

  • Weekly plan, reporting and scheduling of mining operation
  • Work in close liaison with the production supervisor, geologist, surveyors, geotechnical engineers, and all other issues affecting mine plans
  • Develop, review, and implement best practice for the drilling and blasting activities
  • Put in place safe operating procedures and promote a safe environmental culture
  • Monitor and report daily performance and monthly progress
  • Provide and implement a program of ongoing training and development that affects skills and technology transfer for successful succession planning

 

Qualifications/Experience

Degree in Mining Engineering

Minimum 10-15 years of mine planning experience

Has knowledge in Mine Design, Drilling and Blasting

Managerial experience an added advantage

Computer competency applying to mining engineering

Budgeting skills
