How many times have I given up on an idea because “it’s not good enough yet”? Too many.
-
Having high standards is great.
-
But sometimes those standards keep us stuck.
Perfectionism doesn’t move us forward; it paralyses us.
-
We delay taking action
-
We fear making mistakes
-
We second-guess ourselves
And then that inner voice shows up: "Never good enough."
-
We downplay our achievements
-
We don’t give ourselves credit
-
We dismiss what others see as extraordinary (“It’s just my job”)
Step by step, we start to become invisible.
In the past few days, I spoke with several incredible women with impressive careers and accomplishments behind them. I recognised the same pattern in each one.
And that's why I believe this:
Success doesn’t begin with another certification, project, or achievement. It begins within with recognising our limiting patterns and rebuilding a healthier, kinder self-image.
In that new narrative, we are creating. There is no room for perfectionism.
