About the Opportunity:
Join the dedicated team and:
- Provide immediate expertise in the management of complex trauma, burns, and surgical emergencies.
- Perform diverse life-saving surgeries, including laparotomies, thoracotomies, and vascular procedures.
- Lead multidisciplinary teams, collaborating with intensivists, anaesthesiologists, and other specialists for optimal outcomes.
- Stay at the forefront by participating in research and conferences, shaping the future of trauma & acute care surgery.
- Make a profound impact on the lives of patients and their families by offering expert care and guiding them through critical moments.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct rapid assessments and initiate life-saving measures for critically ill and injured adult patients.
- Develop and implement individualised treatment plans, including surgical interventions and non-operative management when appropriate.
- Lead multidisciplinary teams in the operating room and intensive care unit, ensuring seamless care coordination.
- Collaborate with specialists to manage complex post-operative complications and optimise patient recovery.
- Actively participate in research activities, potentially leading to publications and presentations, advancing the field.
- Contribute to resident and fellow education, fostering the next generation of trauma & acute care surgeons.
Qualifications:
- Board-certified or equivalent in Surgery with subspecialty training in Trauma & Acute Care Surgery or General Surgery with extensive trauma experience, from Europe, UK, USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, or South Africa.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a busy trauma & acute care setting with demonstrably positive patient outcomes.
- Proven expertise in managing complex trauma, burns, and surgical emergencies.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills with a calm and decisive approach in high-pressure situations.
- A strong commitment to evidence-based practice and continuous learning.
- Fluency in English is mandatory; Arabic language skills are a plus.
