My Client is one of Atlanta’s fastest growing e-retailers is seeking an Associate Data Science Manager to join our team in Chennai, India. As an Associate Data Science Manager, you will lead and oversee a team of talented data scientists to drive data-driven insights, develop advanced solutions, and support strategic decision-making. You will be responsible for managing the end-to-end data science lifecycle, from data exploration and modeling to delivering actionable recommendations. Your role will involve collaborating with cross-functional teams to understand business objectives and develop data-driven solutions that provide a competitive advantage for the organization.
Responsibilities
- Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of data scientists to achieve exceptional performance and growth. Foster a collaborative, inclusive work environment that encourages creativity, innovation, and continuous learning.
- Project Management: Define and prioritize data science projects, ensuring they align with the company's strategic goals. Manage project timelines, allocate resources effectively, and provide guidance to ensure successful project completion.
- Model Development: Oversee the design, development, and implementation of advanced analytical models, algorithms, and statistical techniques to extract meaningful insights from complex data sets.
- Machine Learning: Stay updated with the latest machine learning and artificial intelligence developments. Evaluate and implement cutting-edge algorithms to enhance predictive accuracy and business performance.
- Business Impact: Ensure that data science initiatives have a measurable impact on business outcomes. Collaborate with business leaders to identify opportunities for optimization and growth.

- Data Governance: Promote data governance and security practices to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and maintain the privacy of sensitive information.

Education & Experience
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.
- Proven experience (typically 4+ years) in data science, or a related field, with at least 2 years in a leadership or management role.
Key Qualifications
- Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or similar, and experience with data manipulation, analysis, and visualization tools (Tableau would be a plus).
- In-depth understanding of machine learning techniques, statistical modeling, and data mining algorithms.
- Familiarity with data storage, retrieval, and processing frameworks (e.g., SQL, NoSQL, Hadoop).
- Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically while also paying attention to details.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Demonstrated track record of delivering data-driven solutions that positively impacted business outcomes.
- Strong leadership and people management skills, with a passion for developing and mentoring team members.
- Experience in industries where data-driven insights play a crucial role, such as finance, e-commerce, healthcare, or technology, is a plus.
