Functional Safety Engineer – Commercial Vehicles (m/f/d)


Your responsibilities:
 

• Lead and participate in the development of safety concepts, hazard analysis, and risk assessments
• Understand intended functionality of systems in a broad automotive context
• Collaborate with hardware and software engineering teams
• Conduct safety audits and reviews throughout the development lifecycle, ensuring compliance with safety standards and best practices
  Work closely with external certification bodies and authorities
• Provide guidance on safety measures and best practices to project teams, fostering a safety-conscious culture within the organization
• Generate the necessary Functional Safety documentation for the projects
• Attend Functional Safety reviews as needed

Your profile:
 

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field
• Proven experience in functional safety engineering, preferably in commercial vehicle domain
• In-depth knowledge of safety standards such as ISO 26262, IEC 61508
• Familiarity with safety analysis tools and methodologies
• Certification in Functional Safety (e.g., CFSE)
• Experience in development of automotive powertrain control systems, high-voltage electrical power supplies, hybrid vehicles, ADAS features or similar technical fields preferable
• Experience in conducting FMEA, FTA, FMEDA, HARA activities as an added advantage
• Fluent in written and spoken English, German as a plus
