With willingness to support development of near-term and long-term sustainability/ESG strategic initiatives, this global role embraces our company culture in a multi-national organization, collaborates cross-functionally and across the international divisions, striving to meet internal and external stakeholders’ expectations. This global lead role is a team player with can-do attitudes, contributes to development of sustainability strategy and roadmap, effectively interacts with all levels in the organization for alignment and execution of approved sustainability strategy.
It is vital for this global role to be a confident consensus builder committed to and passionate about sustainability, in addition to the near-term laser focus to support development of global Climate Strategy and implementation of action plans that align with the company’s Enterprise Growth Strategy.
Description:
Primary Job Responsibilities:
- Support management through a PDCA (plan-do-check-act) methodology and Lean thinking to ensure strategic focus, vision, and advance sustainability as a company differentiator
- Integral part of global structure to manage relevant sustainability requirements. e.g., collecting, analyzing, and monitoring regulatory, disclosure and customer requirements, as well as integrating into The company business strategies and cascading through supply chain
- With business mindset and accountability, collaborate with cross-functional teams and external sustainability project advisors to ensure information / data completeness, accuracy, and timeliness
- Assist development of sustainability strategy that align with our enterprise strategic priorities, implement and execute the approved sustainability strategy
- Collaborate with internal and external subject matter experts in benchmarking, risk assessment, gap assessment and scenario analysis to identify important sustainability trends and material ESG aspects to set priorities aligned with near-term operation and long-term strategic needs
- Track progress of sustainability metrics/ KPIs, assist internal and external reporting at defined cadence to support management review for informed decision-making and actions
- Proactive project management role to ensure timely and effective deliverables within the defined scope and resource plans, escalate risks to relevant functions and management for resolution
- Co-own with responsible functional leads on sustainability assessments, including but not limited to CDP, ecoVadis, MSCI ESG, S&P and customer-specific requirements
- Assist engagement and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders (e.g., employees, customers, investors, suppliers) to communicate, promote awareness, and implement sustainability initiatives
Job Requirements:
Required Skills
- Thorough understanding of key sustainability issues/material ESG aspects, e.g., climate change, and how they can be integrated into business to create measurable value.
- Considerable understanding of sustainability frameworks and protocols, including but not limited to, GRI, UN SDGs, TCFD, GHG protocol, CDP and EcoVadis
- Strong analytical, organizational and project management skills; ability to leverage IT tools to collect, track, consolidate and report on all global sustainability metrics
- Demonstrated experience interacting and collaborating with multiple levels of internal and external stakeholders with multi-national and cross-functional setting
- Technical competence in combination of working knowledge in multifaceted sustainability disciplines
- Bachelor’s degree in sustainability, environmental science, or equivalent fields
- Willingness and flexibility to support and coordinate with global team at different work hours and locations
- Quick learner and change agent
Preferred Skills
- Five (5+) years of professional experience/ supervisory role in sustainability program development and implementation
- Working knowledge on climate strategy, risk assessments, and science-based target setting strongly preferred
- Experience working in publicly traded global companies strongly preferred
- Experience working in manufacturing sectors
- Master’s degree in sustainability, environmental science, or equivalent field; certification in sustainability, environmental, climate and/or energy desired
- Basic knowledge in IFRS, SASB, and/or sustainable finance
