Client Background & Position Overview
Our client is an innovative Indian company specializing in the manufacturing and distribution of high-quality automotive components. They have (among others) a portfolio of mechatronics products used not only in the automotive industry but also in a wide range of industrial applications. With a strong presence in the domestic market, they are now poised for global expansion. To fuel their growth, we are seeking an experienced and dynamic Business Development Director to lead their global expansion and drive their business to new heights.
As the head of international growth, you will be responsible for driving the sales and marketing strategies outside of India, starting with Europe and North America. Drawing on your extensive experience in global markets, you will develop and execute plans to expand the client's customer base and increase market share across all regions. Your primary focus will be on identifying new areas of growth, forging strategic partnerships, and driving revenue generation.
Responsibilities
- Drive profitable and sustainable growth of the company's mechatronics products in key markets in Europe and North America.
- Identify and target key market segments (Incl. outside of Automotive) and customers groups.
- Evaluate potential customers and establish relationships with key decision-makers to expand our customer base.
- Identify new market opportunities and develop strategic partnerships to expand the company’s reach beyond the existing customer base.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to make informed decisions and adjust sales and product strategies accordingly.
- Conduct market research to identify emerging trends, customer demands, and potential areas of growth.
- Set growth targets, track performance, and provide regular reports to the Managing Director.
- Provide the Indian home base market insights and customer feedback to support product development and innovation efforts.
- Develop and implement marketing campaigns, attends global shows and conferences, execute the promotion of new product launches outside of India.
Requirements
- Master of Science and/or MBA.
- Proven track record of at least 10 years in sales and business development roles in Europe with multiple customers
- Solid understanding of mechatronics products and market dynamics.
- Strong background in the automotive industry or related field.
- Demonstrated success in global sales and marketing organizations, achieving revenue targets, and driving market expansion.
- Experience sales and business development in Asia and North America would be a plus.
- Ability to work with teams across different regions and cultures.
- Experience of working with technology oriented Indian based businesses would be a plus.
- Autonomous and self-driven.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to build and maintain relationships with customers, partners, and internal stakeholders.
- Strategic mindset with the ability to analyse market trends, identify new growth opportunities, and make data-driven decisions.
- Strong negotiation and influencing skills, capable of managing complex customer contracts and partnerships.
