Purpose : To Head the Purchasing activities for Turbo Machinery based in Bengaluru 1 Reports To :  Chief Operating Officer

Basic Functional Responsibilities :  Experience of managing procurement activities for Steam Turbines is a must.  Complete understanding of all critical components – including Casings, Rotors, Blading, bought out equipment like Generator, Lube Oil Systems, Gear Box, etc  Complete understanding of the machining activities, along with excellent knowledge on supplier base  Excellent written and spoken communication skills in English, in line with an MNC culture together with soft and analytical skills.

Specific Tasks and Duties :  Thorough Knowledge in Core Turbine as well as Bought Out Parts for Compressors and Steam turbine  Knowledge in sequence of materials required for assembly and ensuring availability of materials as per Assembly requirements  Analytical Skills and Problem solving techniques  Should have knowledge of handling vendors operating precision equipments  Should have knowledge in assembly to challenge  Should work in close coordination with Engineering and Quality  Should have excellent knowledge on Terms and Conditions  Should be able to lead a team  Have excellent soft skills

Qualification :  Bachelor of Engineering / Bachelor of Technology – Mechanical / Industrial Production  20 to 25 years’ experience in the field of Steam turbines/relevant field Must be in a reviewer position, appropriate experience and job seniority will be required. This experience must be retained in our business, to ensure the long-term success of the business. It is therefore expected that the candidate acts as an example to the team , and that the candidate will use every opportunity to share knowledge with other staffs and support personnel in their job execution, by showing them best practices on all activities.

Competence :  Knowledge in Material Standards like ASTM/ API/ DIN / ISO / EN Standards etc.  Must observe all company rules and regulations.  Self-driven, resourceful, able to work with minimum or no supervision.  Result oriented with strong analytical, interpersonal and communication skills.  Ability to understand and communicate proficiently in English language  Excellent computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, PDF commenting & editing )  Open to travel and work in challenging conditions in short notice.  Team oriented.  Competencies according the company guide lines.  Proficient knowledge in Procurement  Should be able to monitor and Head Remote Location (Vadodara) based in Bengaluru.
